Abstract
This study aims to analyze the connotative and denotative meanings in the lyrics of Jungkook’s GOLDEN album. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach and applies Leech’s (1981) semantic theory. The data are taken from selected songs, including Hate You, Shot Glass of Tears, Yes or No, Please Don’t Change, and Too Sad To Dance. The method of analysis consist of four steps: data reduction, data categorization, interpretation the findings, and drawing conclusion. The analysis identifies how literal and implied meanings appear in the lyric and how they reflect emotions, messages, and cultural values. This study contributes to semantic research by showing how popular music lyrics can be examined as a form of communication and artistic expression.
