Abstract
The aim of this study is to find out the English teaching and learning strategy at the LIA Purwokerto Language Institute. This is descriptive qualitative research where data are taken from interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of the study, the study finds that the English teaching and learning strategy at Lembaga Bahasa LIA Purwokerto is a fun teaching and learning activity. Students can speak English as a teaching destination for Lembaga Bahasa LIA. On the one hand, the effectiveness of teaching and learning strategies in English is able to help students achieve English skills. Facilities provided by institutions are able to encourage and assist the teaching and learning process of English. The results show that the strategies used in the process of learning English can improve students' ability in English. It is proven by the majority of graduates from the LIA movement and the surrounding community who say that the strategy applied in LIA is very fun and easy to learn. It can be concluded that the goal of learning strategies and teaching English from Lembaga Bahasa LIA Purwokerto can be achieved. English teaching and learning English from Lembaga Bahasa LIA has improved speaking skills in basic English.
