Abstract
This study is based on the relationship between literary criticism and feminism. The writer considers the film Lady Bird to be closely related to feminist literary criticism. The objective of this research is to prove the existence of women's resistance in the film Lady Bird within the framework of feminism carried out by the main characters. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research to reveal information by describing in detail and carefully the conditions, symptoms, phenomena, and elements as the integrity of the structure in the texts that are the object of research. The writer finds two parts of the main character's resistance. The first is resistance toward the family, the second is resistance toward the wider society. The conclusion to the study is about female gaze which reveals how to understand women in a broader context.
